    Serving Our Veterans at Home (SOVAH)

    Coordinate and fund the annual Marion/Polk County Stand Down, benefiting over 300 veterans with essential services and gear. Additionally, they host the weekly "Battle Buddies" veteran group, offering a safe space for connections and local resource access. Each year, they distribute over 100 bus passes to veterans, aiding in employment, social service visits, and other needs.

    Tanner Project

    Assisting veterans in finding housing by providing customized support to ensure they secure safe, stable, and affordable living arrangements. With a a goal to facilitate lasting stability and enhance the quality of life for veterans through these connections to essential resources.

    Description 211info is a nonprofit organization that connects individuals in Oregon and Southwest Washington to over 7,000 health, human, and social service programs, including resources for housing, food assistance, healthcare, childcare, mental health, and emergency services.

    Salem Housing Authority

    The Salem Housing Authority (SHA), established in 1969, is a public agency serving the Salem and Keizer areas of Oregon. Its mission is to assist low- and moderate-income families in achieving self-sufficiency through stable housing, economic opportunity, community investment, and coordination with social service providers .

    Energy Assistance

    Public and non-profit agencies and organizations in the Salem area provide financial assistance to help residents pay rent and utility bills. You can find a list of organizations that provide the assistance. We provide funding in support of these and other helping organizations.

    There are distinct requirements you must meet to qualify for different rental and utility assistance programs.

    The ARCHES Project

    The housing and street outreach division, known as the ARCHES Project, assists clients in transitioning from homelessness to stable housing and improved lives. Our method involves offering referrals, arranging housing placements, and providing essential services to individuals facing homelessness and housing instability in Marion and Polk counties.

HUD administers a range of programs to improve housing conditions and support community development.
